Events

It was a strangely busy end of the first quarter for us, and summer looks down right crazy. Husband Ron had a small heart attack (if such things can be considered small) in early March. While going through all of the assorted tests related to a heart trauma, they also discovered cancer. Thankfully they discovered it early, and Ron’s prognosis is good. However, he will have to go through radiation and chemotherapy treatments. That means Nancy will be running the shop alone and serving as Nurse Ratched at home. So there will be little time for writing monthly features and updating the website calendar.

Art Exhibit:
We are currently exhibiting paintings from the Funky Kitchens series, by local artist Petersen Thomas. We love this series, not so much because they focus on the kitchen, but because of the lively color schemes and whimsical way in which Petersen presents these everyday objects. Cooking Demos:
We do not have any cooking demos scheduled, here at the Cookware Sorcerer, until fall. Our first fall demo will probably be the annual Halloween Cookie Decorating Demo at the October Gallery Hop. You will find links to some of our favorite cooking instructors and food bloggers on the Cooking Demos Page.

Events Calendar:
We will resume our neighborhood events calendar in the fall.

Monthly Features:
Every food and food group has its special month, when it is at its peak of flavor. Since Ron has had so many health issues this year, I though I would share some of the interesting nutritional information I found about these “featured” foods.
